Gary Delooze was appointed Nationwide’s Chief Information Officer in 2019, following two years as Chief Technology Officer. During that time he reshaped the Society’s technology capability, building an Architecture team to drive standardisation and simplification of the estate, and an Engineering team to develop talent in software and infrastructure engineering. He also led the development of a new Technology Strategy for the Society that will result in over £4bn of investment in technology over the next 5 years, including Cloud Computing, Microservices, DevOps, Analytics and AI. Prior to his role at Nationwide, Gary led strategy and architecture teams in both Barclays and Lloyds Banking Group, in addition to a 20-year career in technology consulting with Andersen Consulting, PwC, EY and IBM.
