Uzoma Nwagba has built his expertise at the intersection of technology and finance. Today, he is the Chief Operating Officer and co-designer of the Growth Platform, Africa’s largest technology-led operation to reach micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) with credit and grants, now with a portfolio of over $472 million across 7 programmes. The Growth Platform to date has leveraged the power of identity management, emerging technologies, smart algorithms, field agents, and mobile wallets to fund over four million under-served or underbanked Nigerian enterprises, demonstrating the biggest advancement of MSME financing via technology and a field operation. Uzoma started his career as an Analyst at Goldman Sachs, New York, and then proceed to be an Engineering Product Manager at Microsoft, Redmond, where he received at Gold Star Award, one of the highest honours at the company. Following an MBA at Harvard Business School, Uzoma returned to Nigeria to a career in private equity at African Capital Alliance, driving investments in financial services. He now applies his experiences to large scale impact on the Growth Platform.
