Background - Dr Murray Simpson leads Sustainability Centre of Competence. He specialises in sustainability, climate-related financial risk, ESG, the transition to Net Zero, green finance, climate impacts and resilience. - Dr Simpson is Chair of techUK’s Climate Strategy Council, a member of the Royal Society Global Environmental Research Committee and a Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society. - Dr Simpson advises National Banks, Financial Institutions, members of government and large corporations across most sectors on TCFD and Climate Related Financial Risk. Professional experience Worked closely with multiple UN agencies, leads the development of digital technologies addressing sustainability and the journey to net zero. - Established and managed highly skilled, successful, and dynamic teams wherever he has worked, he has directed and delivered more than 250 initiatives in over 75 countries applying innovation, effectiveness and pragmaticism; bridging the gaps between business, science, policy and practice. - Senior implementation lead for global Finance and Risk operations IT programme, including overseeing multi-country delivery model across Finance, Risk and IT operations Leading Expertise and Global Recognition. - With more than 25 years’ experience in sustainability and climate, he is a highly accomplished and internationally renowned senior leader and expert: working with multiple global corporations across all sectors and industries, numerous international financial institutions, the ‘Big 4’, global govts and the world’s leading academic institution
