  • There are many good reasons to choose containers from an operational point of view, but deploying them in clusters on servers is just the start of the journey. Running applications in containers makes it much easier to build an immutable infrastructure which, coupled with infrastructure-as-code practices, reduces the chances of “snowflakes” in a data center. However, managing and maintaining an existing micro-services application presents a new set of challenges.

  • Container Delivery Pipelines

    12 Feb 2018 Cloud 66

The recent launch of Amazon’s managed Kubernetes services, as well as the reported growth in adoption of existing container engines like Amazon ECS, GKE and Openshift, has been significant in changing the field of container infrastructure deployments. As a user, bringing up a container cluster with a useful and friendly UI is now taken for granted. However, the operational theory tells us that a removal of one set of constraints will promptly reveal the next set: as such, with the removal of friction from the deployment and provisioning process, the inefficiencies of existing build pipelines are exposed.

  • Running Containers in Production

    07 Feb 2018 Cloud 66

There are relatively clear winners in most categories of components that you need to consider for running in containers. What’s more, this will accelerate, with leading IaaS companies like AWS, Google, Azure and Red Hat providing Kubernetes as a service, including a lot of the components provided as services on top of the more conventional primitives of compute, network and storage. However, there is no such leading solution in the field of CDP and pipeline in general—and that’s a key area to watch.

  • “This is an outstanding event that delivers fantastic results for us. The audience is huge but, more importantly, the quality of the prospects in the room is absolutely top class and means we can access decision makers from multiple new customers across two days.   I have been to many events during my lengthy career in the technology industry and I can happily say this is one of the best I have been to. This is an extremely important event for us and one we will not miss as we always see tremendous results.”
    Marketing Manager, GitLab
  • "We wouldn't miss an opportunity to exhibit at Cloud Expo Europe – there is an excellent quality of delegate and the organisation is fantastic. The organisers really listen to what we say. In previous years, we've had development meetings which have been really refreshing. CloserStill really take on feedback from sponsors. The quality of business is also impressive – we have done over £40 million of business just from this show alone over the past two years. This year we've had even more quality conversations with lots of c-level executives and enterprise architects."
    Marketing Manager, Northern Europe, NTT
  • "We have been exhibiting at Cloud Expo Europe for years as we have always seen great success at the show. We have an extensive cloud portfolio and as this is the biggest cloud exhibition in Europe it is important to have a presence here."

  • "This year's show is going very well for us. We are seeing a lot of interest in various cloud-related IBM solutions. Our dedicated VIP area has been great for meetings and discussions. I've arranged lots of meetings with customers and potential clients over the course of the two days. The VIP area has attracted plenty of IT directors and CTOs which has been really great. You really do get everybody here – like-minded individuals sharing experiences and useful insights."

  • "We've been exhibiting at Cloud Expo Europe for a couple of years now. It's a huge opportunity for customer engagement and have a good chat with both existing and prospective clients. I've organised plenty of meetings to touch base with people – I wouldn't normally have the chance to see so many people in just two days! We see lots of senior level professionals here – IT directors and lead architects. It is important to have a presence here and get a message out to the audience. It introduces us to people who may not already know about us. We'll definitely be back in 2018!"
    Client Manager, Nutanix
  • "Cloud Expo Europe is always looking to push the boundaries. In an industry renowned for constant change, Cloud Expo Europe seeks to innovate whilst remaining relevant to its core audience of technologists, analysts and systems architects to remain ahead of the game. The event with its enviable keynote line up is specifically designed to get you to think outside the box whilst providing valuable and practical insight from leading cloud  practitioners.  It’s the one event that we place in the calendar without any hesitation, it has become a key element in our marketing strategy and provides us with a fantastic springboard for our new financial year.  We have yet to attend a Cloud Expo Europe where we have not gained a major return on our marketing investment having won significant new business worth hundreds of thousands of pounds each time we have exhibited. There is no such thing as a ‘sure thing’ when planning events but Cloud Expo Europe is as near to one as is possible."
