Stephen McGibbon:
Stephen leads the EMEA Technology Office which engages with technology policy makers concerning the uture direction of high impact technologies and the implication of these trends on government’s social and economic policy agendas. Through these engagements, Stephen and his team work to ensure that the unique needs of government and public sector organizations are reflected in Microsoft’s technology and development strategies.
Stephen has more than 15 years of senior leadership experience in global technology companies across both emerging and developed markets. A regular international speaker on a range of technology and technology policy issues, Mr McGibbon also lectures frequently on technical and business issues at universities throughout Europe.
Stephen holds an MSc, is a Fellow of the Institute of Directors and a member of The Royal Institute of International Affairs (Chatham House). Stephen is a member of Microsoft's Standards Advisory Council, and is a professional member of The British Computer Society; The Institution of Engineering and Technology; The Association for Computing Machinery; The IEEE, IEEE Computer Society and IEEE Standards Association.
David King:
David has over 25 years’ experience in the technology, media and telecoms industries, and worked as Chief Technology Officer at the BBC and KPMG consulting, before moving to Logica in 2004. During his career at the BBC, he led the technology developments for digital TV and BBC online, and was responsible for the BBC’s technology strategy and large-scale projects. At KPMG, he was responsible for solution and technology direction across all sectors, and for bringing a compelling user experience to client solutions.
At Logica, he leads the overall technology portfolio strategy, and looks at how to help clients succeed as the technology and market landscape evolves. He was also responsible for technology strategy for the global telecoms group and was part of the management team which led the sales of the telecoms group to private equity owners. He currently leads the Cloud Services strategy for the company and is a member of the leadership team which developed the organisational blueprint and introduced matrix management to Logica.
Throughout his career, David has been a regular presenter and chair at international and UK conferences on media and technology. He has also been responsible for European collaborative projects on navigation, interactive TV and multimedia education and chaired committees of key industry standards.
