MD, Martin Wright, set up Techgate ten years ago from the proceeds of the sale of a previous IT company to a European service provider. His aim was to provide highly available production and business continuity services to small to medium sized companies, which, under ordinary circumstances, would not have the technical expertise or the budgets to afford the levels of security and resilience available through Techgate. In 2011 he finished overseeing the successful completion of Techgate’s new wholly owned data centres and network infrastructure. The culmination of three years planning and implementation. This new highly resilient cloud infrastructure has enabled Techgate to provide clients, large and small, with high availability managed services; earning Techgate the much coveted VMware vCloud Powered accreditation. In Martin Wright’s opinion, Cloud Computing is not only the most exciting development in IT in recent years but it has reached a tipping point. Companies are now truly beginning to adopt the cloud into their business. A trend that has far reaching implications for the industry and Techgate. He says, ”These days I see my role as an enabler; helping Techgate’s 300 plus reseller channel, and our enterprise clients to realise the benefits of the Cloud. Right now people are testing the water, but very soon they’ll begin to see the advantages. Flexible, scalable, elastic. It’s all about getting more for less.” However to achieve that he aims to establish Techgate as a provider of what Techgate call Trusted Cloud Services; leveraging the company’s secure infrastructure, hard-won expertise and enthusiasm to provide clients trust, security and access to innovation. He says, “We are delighted that we have achieved VMware vCloud Powered accreditation. We look forward to exciting times ahead.”
