
Mac is a highly qualified and regarded IT specialist, with more than 32 years of real-life business and technology experience. Mac leads the Infrastructure and Architecture capability group and the Associate network within CIOA and has a particular interest in the role of architecture in the delivery of sustainable and cost effective management of IT infrastructure and applications. He strongly believes that all successful IT change should deliver tangible business value.
During this 32 years he has worked across a wide range of pubic and private industry sectors, from Pharma, through Central and Local Government, to Retail and Avionics. This breadth of business and technology exposure has given him an understanding of both the non-technical and technical aspects of IT at a practical, business and commercial level. He is a strong communicator, translating complex IT issues into plain, understandable English up to board level.
His skills cover strategy, architecture, programme and people management , service delivery, outsourcing and commercial negotiation. Mac has experience of both applications and infrastructure architecture; running his own software house for 7 years and with more than 16 years consulting experience working with clients to deliver pragmatic infrastructure architecture solutions.
