
Chris Yiu is Head of Policy Exchange's Digital Government Unit. He directs research on public policy for a world increasingly dominated by technology, data and the internet.
Chris has authored a range of publications on topics including open data and big data, the digital economy, and government digital services. Current areas of research include digital enterprise, broadband policy, and technology-enabled public sector reform. He is a regular commentator on digital policy, speaking at conferences and writing for print and online media. In addition to his role at Policy Exchange, Chris is also a member of the UK Government's Data Strategy Board.
Chris has spent the past decade working at the heart of public policy and business strategy. In government he held a number of positions, including advising on tax and financial services policy at HM Treasury, and on economic and foreign policy at the Prime Minister's Strategy Unit. In business he served a range of UK and international clients as a management consultant at McKinsey & Company.
Chris was born and brought up in London. He holds a first class degree in economics and a master’s degree in economics and finance, both from the University of Cambridge.
