
Canonical is the company behind Ubuntu Server. Ubuntu Server has emerged over the last five years as the leading Linux OS for cloud infrastructure and guest images with a reputation for security and robustness.
Chris is responsible for Canonical's global commercial engagements with industry partners like Dell, HP, Intel, ARM and Amazon and has led commercial growth of the company helping Canonical expand from 45 to 520 staff globally over the last five years. Chris spends much of time on the road and has overseen growth of the company in North America, China and emerging markets.
His present role spans commercial strategy with both end customers and industry partners with a strong focus on Ubuntu's continued role as the most popular building block of next generation compute workloads - IaaS, PaaS, big data and power efficient datacenters.
Prior to this role, Chris was the VP & General Manager of the OEM Services BU at Canonical overseeing the 120 person team that engages with PC & Server manufacturers and their ODM partners in Taiwan and China.
In this capacity also worked as an advisor to ARM in the setting up of Linaro, the cross-industry consortium that works to drive and improve the performance of Linux based operating systems on ARM based processors.
